Plaintiffs' Medical Malpractice Cases

Doctors' failure to properly diagnose a stroke results in $340,000 recovery for surviving victim and family.

Improper Medical Treatment for Pregnancy Induced Hypertension Leads to $1.3 Million Dollar Settlement

98,000 people die each year from medical errors.

How do medical errors occur?

Valuable information for stroke victims.
Doctors can misdiagnose your condition.

If your loved one or you has been misdiagnosed, then the doctors who made this error may be liable to you for damages. The hospital where the doctors work may also be liable. Consider what happened to Jose, and how he and his family recovered $340,000.

Doctors who fail to admit you to a hospital may be liable if you later have a problem.

Jose sought care for a condition he described as "electricity" in his brain. Two different doctors were responsible for his well-being. Both doctors failed to properly diagnose Jose’s medical condition. They were not as careful as they could have been. Both doctors failed to diagnose that Jose was having a stroke. The physicians released Jose, even though he showed symptoms that would lead other doctors to conclude he was having a stroke.

If physicians make a mistake your loved one or you suffer.

After Jose went home, he had a stroke. When he went back to the same health care institution, his condition was much worse. His stroke made him a paraplegic with significant loss of leg mobility.

The doctors’ correct diagnosis could have helped Jose.

If the doctors had correctly diagnosed Jose’s condition, then they could have helped him by providing proper treatments. Early diagnosis would have allowed Jose to receive blood thinners to "bust" the clot that caused his stroke.

Have you ever felt your doctor wasn't listening to you?

If you feel your doctor isn't listening to you or doesn't understand what you're saying, then you're facing conditions that could lead to negligent diagnosis or misdiagnosis.

If you feel your physician isn't taking your feelings or pain seriously, then just like Jose, you may be a victim of a doctors misdiagnosis.

The health care institutions accepted responsibility and paid Jose and his family $340,000 for medical negligence in diagnosis. But they didn't do it until Ed Wright represented Jose and his family.

The two doctors worked for two different institutions. Both institutions were at fault for missing the diagnosis Jose was having a stroke.

Ed Wright’s preparation for trial enabled him to settle the case.

Jose and his family hired Ed Wright to represent them. Ed Wright prepared to try this case against the two institutions.

For trial preparation Ed Wright had to:

    • Study the law on misdiagnosis liability for doctors and institutions
    • Obtain copies of all of the medical records from both doctors who had seen Jose
    • Send the medical records to some of the best experts in the country who could testify on what doctors should have done when they saw Jose with his symptoms
    • Hire these expert witnesses for their evaluation and their testimony as well as opinions that would be persuasive.
    • Pay Jose’s experts for their time while the health care institutions’ attorneys asked Jose’s experts about their expertise and opinions
    • Pay for the deposition of each institution’s expert witnesses
    • Depose witnesses at the institution about Jose’s visits
    • Hire experts to speak about Jose’s medical expenses
    • Hire experts to give opinions on Jose’s loss of income and other damages resulting from the mistakes

The institutions saw the legal problems they faced. They knew Ed Wright would present a case that would be sympathetic to a jury. So, the health care institutions agreed to pay Jose and his family $340,000.
